At the Rotary Club of Historic Jackson Heights, we believe something simple but powerful:

Every child deserves the opportunity to live, grow, dream, and smile with confidence.

Since 2010, our New York City–based Rotary Club has worked to turn compassion into action, helping children and families gain access to life-changing medical care that might otherwise be beyond their reach.

Our mission is driven by the belief that where a child is born or a family's financial circumstances should never determine that child's opportunity for a healthier future.

❤️ Giving Children the Gift of a Healthy Heart

For families facing congenital heart conditions, access to specialized medical care can mean the difference between fear and hope—and, in some cases, between life and death.

Through partnerships and humanitarian initiatives supporting children in Central America and Colombia, we help make critical heart procedures possible for children whose families may not have the resources to access the care they need.

A child's heart should be filled with dreams, laughter, and possibilities—not limited by a condition that can be treated.

Behind every procedure is more than a patient. There is a child with a future. A family holding onto hope. A life waiting to unfold.

😊 Give the Gift of a Smile

Our commitment to children has grown through Give the Gift of a Smile, our initiative supporting children born with cleft lip and cleft palate in Barranquilla, Colombia.

For a child born with a cleft, the challenges can extend far beyond appearance. A cleft can affect eating, speaking, hearing, oral health, self-confidence, and social development.

But with access to appropriate surgical and comprehensive care, a child's life can be transformed.

Through this program and the extraordinary collaboration of our partners, donors, volunteers, and medical professionals, we help provide children with access to the care they need—giving them more than a new smile.

We help give them new possibilities.

A possibility to eat more comfortably.

A possibility to communicate with greater confidence.

A possibility to walk into a classroom without hiding their smile.

A possibility to dream about their future instead of being defined by a condition they were born with.

Because changing a smile can help change the course of a life.

Curious about Rotary or interested in getting involved?

Come meet us.

We host biweekly Zoom meetings every other Thursday from 9:00–10:00 PM, providing an easy way to learn about our projects, meet our members, and discover opportunities to serve.

We also hold in-person gatherings at rotating locations throughout Queens, New York City, bringing our members and community partners together in fellowship and service.

You don't have to be a Rotarian to start making a difference.
